I haven't LJ-ed in ages, I don't even think it's necessary at times because there isn't enough time to even think. Also with sites such as Facebook and Twitter, who needs an LJ account right? Wrong.

I foresee myself typing in more entries as the days go by, mainly because I'll have more time on my hands, more time for me.

It's lunchtime btw, and no one is attempting to even say, "Hey, it's lunchtime, lets get outta here!" I guess it's because we're all so beat out of our minds. Late nights are evil..

I recently caught Tokyo! What a splendid splendid string of short stories. It was a fun watch.

Also, everyone should get into sync with The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, or should I say Coco Christopher. Hahaha! Move aside Jay Leno, Coco's gotta Gogo! Seriously, watch this. Saturdays on CNBC Asia, Starhub Cable channel 15 10PM - 1AM and the same for Sundays. It'll do you more good than harm, trust!

The people in Japan are amazing, as well as the food and it's culture.
How could anyone love the country?
My experience in Japan is probably my best yet, that is when the next Japan trip comes along to top the last.
Plus, Radiohead. Radiohead made everything seamlessly piece together.

The weekends have been flying pass us like a magicians' slide of hand, it's really difficult to find the time to really sit down and do nothing at all.
Luckily for me, I found some time last Sunday.

Work has started and it has been terribly busy and tiring. It doesn't help that we're drinking after work, which is all fun though because we deserve it. Working with your mates has been a blessing, people always watching out for you, taking care of you and helping you out when you're in dire need of it. Basically working where I'm working at is more than good, very close-knit.

I'm desperate for a back rub.

I'm counting down the days to DCFC and then Radiohead after. Seems so near but feels lightyears away. I need to share the same room as Mr. Yorke. Breathe in the air he breathes. Thank god my leave got approved.

It's Su's place later for dinner, taboo and scrabble.

And everybody should get in sync with The Mighty Boosh, Noel is such a joy.

After vigorous planning, late nights and all things snazzy, July 2nd finally happened.

The 2nd of July was Su's birthday, we had a day of "sheer brilliance"(quoted by Prats).
The day started bright and early. 7am, it was. Prats, Fai, Rias and I went down to Yew Tee to collect Paul Bettany Jr. Jr.

Waiting for the bus.

We finally arrived at the car rental place and drove down to Su's place in Tampines to surprise her.

We parked the car, got under Su's apartment and laid out the table.

Prat's got partied up.

Fierce.

We all got terribly hungry, so even before the birthday girl arrived, some of the cupcakes got eaten.

Fai's tries to get Su down quicker.

And she arrives..

Make a wish, with the unlit candles.

We led her towards the carpark area and whilst walking, we handed over the car keys. She freaked when she saw the brand on the key. A Mini Cooper it was.

Disbelief.

I tried it out for a bit.

So did Fai.

We drove to Sengkang to get an MC for Prats and drove down to my place to get a few things here and there. Soon after, we made our way to Jalan Kayu for some food.

Making food decisions are tough.

We stare at each other for a bit.

Orders were made and finally the food arrives.

The next series of shots were taken at Yishun Dam, for our own indulgence.

Love.

So we bid farewell to the reservoir and drove around for a bit. And we decided to head down to East Coast for some drinks and food.

The beach was our next stop, to enjoy the salty breeze and to enjoy some tortillas chips with salsa dip.

We left the beach, the drive down to Pasir Ris was smooth and we wanted to bowl but we were put on the waiting list.

So Macdonald's it was. Hah.

So fucking beat.

Su love, you are an awesome driver, must have been scary being presented a Mini on your first trip out with us but you totally owned it. Hope you enjoyed yourself thoroughly.
Prats and Fai, you guys are the best party planners ever. Ever ever.

School's out and party time is in. I'm so glad school is over. It's been a very tiring two years, extremely tiring.

So projects are ongoing and we've got tonnes of rehearsals. Here's a couple of pictures of my groupmates at work. Heh.

The really unsettling thing is that I've yet to get the confirmation of the concert tickets. I just hope they'd just confirm that shit in the bag as quickly as possible. Tessa and Su will be embarking on this marvelous adventure with yours truely. How amazing is that going to be. Wow.

On friday, Tessa, Su and I met up for our first official Radiohead/Japan get together since we've decided on going.
Books on Japanese translations and phrases were hilarious.
Tessa wanted to find the word "Penis" just for kicks, but only managed to find the word "Penetration". LOL.
Su was insisted on the word "Supermarket" so we could ask passerbys where it was to get some Pocky.
Yeah, we're gonna get all flavours of Pocky and probably stuff ourselves til we don't want Pocky no more.

We arrived at 730pm and had a couple of fags while we walked to Starbucks to wait for Su.

She arrived soon after. SU!

The next day, I was woken up by Momi. So so tired though, but rolled out of bed to shower. Met her, Charwin and Jo at City Hall. We had lunch at Thai express and then walked over to Bugis for some shisha.

The Shisha soon arrives.

And Charwin went mad on Shisha, he was hooked.

He wanted to try different ways of exhaling the smoke.

And they posed for me on the stairs because I asked them to.

So we paid for the bill(heh) and sent Jo to Bugis Junction to meet her boy and we took a train down to Tampines to meet up with Shaun and Yan Ping.

Momi and I played Daytona. We crashed into each other the first time, she crashed into me to stall me and then I WON! Heh. Ok ok Shaun, I know I didn't win anything ok. Bleh.

The weather has been rather gloomy these past few days, with cold nights and stormy afternoons. Today, on the contrary, was extremely hot and still is. It's going to be an uncomfortable night. The above picture was picked to point out how blue the skies were this afternoon and the clouds were really pronounced and fluffy. I thought it was pretty.
Temperature as of now, a humid 27°C.

I've been meaning to post up pictures of my newly vamped room for a long time yet and now the time has come.

I love guided online tours of rooms, pictures, etc. So I'll offer you one. Heh.

As you enter my room you'll get a full view of my bed and my Darjeeling Limited poster. That's one framed poster I'll cherish for a long time yet.

On the right hand side of my room, you'll see my good ol' TV and my DVD player, I swear my DVD player's going to crack soon, it's manic. The disc tray opens and closes repeatedly when I try to get a disc in or out. It gets annoying at times but I deal. Hah.

And my humble DVD collection (some DVDs are out on loan which explains the empty spaces here and there). (=

My extremely tiny CD collection, if you can even call it a collection. HAH!

The books I actually put out on display, the rest are in the cupboards. Just some JK Rowling fun. I'm a fan, a crazed one.

Stuff on my dresser which is located to the left of my books and CDs. As you can clearly tell, my mirror isn't too clean ya.

My curtains which sorta match my bedspread. I'm such a nerd.

My little bedside table, which isn't technically beside the bed where it should be, holds my lamp, phone, iPod dock, meds and occasionally a glass of water.

And finally, my two locker shelves that frame my window.

2008 has been pretty much awesome, movie-wise. The entire movie experience doesn't only rely on the show itself. It's the venue, the popcorn, the sound and seats and most importantly, the company play the essentials of the experience. I've been blessed with friends with similar tastes and therefore, my movie experiences are mostly top notch.

Lets start with the first one I've watched this year, a Wes Anderson classic, The Darjeeling Limited.
The timing of the movie was superb, in the sense of comic stints, their actions, intonations. Genius.
Lets all come together now to do the peacock feather ritual in various farfetched interpretations.

The next movie we've got up is Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. It's such a Tim burton film, down to his old Batman days. From the dingy sidewalks of fleet to Mrs. Lovette's meat cellar, everything was meticulously done to it's finest. A fine class act of musical numbers by non-singers.

Now, the motion picture Atonement brought me to the past to bask in it's tremendous beauty, life was pretty care free until I was violently jerked forward by this force from my belly button, it pulled me hard and I was in a war scene. This movie jumps back and forth in continual motion about how an elder sister and her lover get betrayed by her younger sister. Things get out of whack, nothing can get back to normal, so the little sister, now a 18 year old nurse writes a book on her elder sister and her partner, she writes on what should have happened to their love and how amazing the journey was. Gut wrenching film, nonetheless windblowing.

The simplicities of friendships and loyalty can go out of hand when faced in times of turmoil in Iran and Pakistan.Simple hobbies like Kite flying can bring things down to reality. This movie Kite Runner was tragic but yet peaceful. Ok, let's just say it leaves you with a good empty feeling within.

Oh man, this Film makes me smile whenever someone mentions it or has a glass of OJ with her. It's a real movie with a smart ass actress for the lead and the lovely Paulie Bleeker that is sugary sweet. This movie is wholesome, hilarious and definitely one of the better movies I've watched in recent times. This could just be behind Little Miss Sunshine. You'd never know. Juno, go catch it if you haven't.

The Diving Bell & The Butterfly, Beatiful way of viewing a movie, from a man's functional left eye. A life changing accident occurs and then suddenly Jean Dominique is fully paralyzed, everything except for his left eye. He changes, attitude-wise. Less of a chauvanist, writes a better book in the end instead of the one he was intending to write while he was still mobile.

Finally, the last movie I've caught so far was Persepolis. I love the humor, the animation, the character. Let me tell you, throughout the show I was trying to decipher which character was voiced by Sean Penn, my pick was Marjane Uncle who died. Excellent insightful film. Love it.

John Christopher Depp II, an amazing individual, more commonly known for his eccentric roles such as Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka & the latest, Sweeney Todd, to name a few.

Now lets stroll down memory lane to appreciate the true legend that he is.

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS 1990

A brilliant comedy-drama potraying fictitious Edward, a man with scissors for hands, and his way of coping with the highly steroetypical vision of American suburbia.

WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE 1993

There is a warmth and wit and insightfulness here that brings the film significantly up a few notches from the usual fare on this subject, and the performances are all excellent.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY 2005

Not one of his best films but still pretty enjoyable due to the sheer brilliance of Depp, the colours will keep you glued.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street 2007

This musical marvel is everything you wished for and more. Blood, jealousy, revenge, morose and the sheer joy of watching Depp brood like a lone puppy. The kind of movie that leaves a sadistic smile on your face right after.

So lets give a few moments to honour this accomplished dish of an actor, and to forever support him in his future endeavours.

The Birthday

The big 20 for me was great, excellent company, superb venue, awesome food & drinks. Just want to say a huge Thank You to everyone that made it happen. The smile on my face will not fade for days, I assure you entirely. I only have pictures of presents because I wasn't the one taking the pictures at the party. That'll be in another post.

Vee gave me these DVDs, Capote and Edward Scissorhands. Two classics. Thanks again. =)

The dialogue, let me tell you, it was witty, hilarious and brilliant. Wes Anderson is a brilliant brilliant man. I'm in awe. Definitely worth buying in DVD format and I can't fucking wait for that.

I've been drowning myself with episodes upon episodes of Little Britain, sometimes even repeat watching. Yes, I'm addicted. It's the dry humor I'm telling you.

I'm currently enjoying term break, basking in sleep ins, late nights and spending quality time with friends that truely matter. I've got to catch up with some that I've yet to catch up with evensince the restaurant attachment term began. I do miss them. Liyana, yo!

I tell myself time and time again that I'm not the partying sort, but what have I been doing? I've been ATTICA-ing. Guilty pleasures should die! I'm having fun so I shouldn't be complaining. Free entry, free drinks, VIP access what more can a girl ask for?

Things are looking up nowadays which is fucking fantastic. There was a period of time where I lost myself, needless to say, I found myself again. Everything's smooth sailing, for now at least. I'm grateful. It's nice meeting up with the people I care about most and catching up on time lost and on top of all this, I can be myself around them. That's the only thing I ask for y'know? For them to accept my sarcasm, appreciate it, and blast some sarcasm back. That would be entirely great.

Currently, I'm munching on some Subway cookies, white chocolate and chocolate chip because double chocolate was unavailable, thinking about the days' events. I woke up at precisely 2 in the afternoon, to an empty house. Called mom and she was in the cinema, she's never, ever in the cinema, that's just so weird. Watching a Sandra Bullock flick at that, normally she'll be at home watching Hallmark. But whatever, she was watching Premonition with Dad, which is kinda cute. She didn't enjoy the film(no surprise) which wasn't Dad's case. She brought home lunch. Watched videos online the whole afternoon till about 6, got ready and left for downtown East. Watched the band for a bit, had some drinks, caught up with a few friends and left. And now I'm here with my cookies.

Yesterday marked the end of the examinations, can't say that I'm going to do any good but what I'm glad about is that it's over and done with. Now I can actually look forward to the holidays, eventhough it's just a week long, it's seriously better than no holiday at all.

The weeks have been flying by so quickly, it's hard to keep up. Don't you ever have the feeling of waking up and wondering what day of the week it is? It happens to me all the time, it's like my brain is lapsing of something. It sucks not to be in touch with the world, when you're so caught up with work, school, academic bullshit because ultimately you begin to lose yourself, and that's when you know you've sunk to an entirely different low and it's hard to pick yourself up and go on and be in touch with yourself and love ones again. But hey, school's out, so this is when I'll be able find myself again.

Yesterday was fun though, Jana, Prats and I went to Arab Street since Jana wanted to look for some dresses for a friend of hers. The dress shop was closed so she went to a different shop and instead of looking for dresses, she got herself a vest. HAHA. We went to PLUCK, the store come ice cream parlour soon after. And something out of the ordinary happened. My ringtone went off, and the store manager came up to me and told me that he had the exact ringtone, "No surprises by Radiohead". And I was like cool cool and all that. When I was lining up to get some ice cream, the manager signalled the server and pointed at me shouting, "This girl gets a free ice cream since we share the the same ringtone". HAHA. How brilliant! The ice cream tasted so good, and it was free. LMAO. After ice cream, we all decided to part, and I went to meet Lolly at her place. Charwin and Momi picked us up and we went to have some dinner, after much deliberation, we decided to go to Gardens. Chomp chomp was packed, so fuckin' hell, we went to Mackers instead. Talked bullshit, slacked around and I had to head home early because daddy was coming home after about a month away.

Oh yeah you guys, watch Weeds. Probably the bestest show.
